The bare back seat
01 — The shape
Padded front and back
A thick bolster at the front and a taller one behind. Something to rest a chin on, and something to brace against when you brake.
02 — The fabric
Rain, mud, wet paws
The outer is a tough coated Oxford fabric that's waterproof and scratch-resistant. Wipe it down after the beach and it's ready for the drive home.
03 — The tether
Clipped in, not climbing out
Two straps hold the seat to the car, and two short tethers inside clip to their harness so they stay in their own seat. Always to a harness, never a collar.

Headrest strap
Take the top strap round the headrest posts and click the buckle shut.

Seat-back strap
Wrap the lower strap round the back of the seat and click it in.
Step 3
Pull both snug
Tighten both straps until the seat sits firm. The anti-slip base keeps it from sliding.
Step 4
Clip the tethers
Clip the two tethers inside to your dog's harness. Set the length so they can sit and lie down, not climb out.
Always clip the tether to a proper car harness — never to a collar.
Questions, answered
Which dogs is it for?
One dog from 7 to 15 kg — a Cavapoo, French Bulldog, Dachshund or Cocker Spaniel, for example. Measure your dog lying down, nose to the base of the tail, and allow a little room to turn round. Under 7kg, the Voyage Pocket is the better fit; over 12kg, see the Voyage Plus.
Is it really waterproof?
The outer is a coated Oxford fabric that's waterproof and scratch-resistant, so rain, mud and wet paws wipe straight off. The cushion inside is soft fabric — after a properly soaking walk, give your dog a quick towel first.
Will it fit my car?
It's 65 × 65 × 35 cm and sits on a standard car seat in most cars. The straps go round the headrest and the back of the seat, so there's nothing to fit and nothing to unbolt. Sizes are measured by hand, so allow 1–2 cm either way.
Front seat or back seat?
Both. The straps go round the headrest and the seat back, so it fits the front passenger seat or either outer rear seat. In the front, slide the seat right back and follow your car's airbag guidance.
Does it come with harness tethers?
Yes. Two short tethers with snap hooks sit inside the seat. Clip them to your dog's harness — never a collar — and set the length so they can turn round and settle.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the waterproof outer with a damp cloth. For a proper clean, take the cover off and machine-wash it following the care label, then let it air dry. The cushion is double-sided, so you can flip it between washes.
Can I use it outside the car?
Yes. Two handles and a shoulder strap make it easy to carry, so it works as their bed at home, at a hotel or at a holiday cottage. Side pockets hold treats and toys.
Do I still need a harness?
Yes. The Highway Code, Rule 57, asks that dogs be suitably restrained in a moving vehicle. The tethers clip to a proper car harness and keeps your dog in their seat. The Classic is a comfortable, contained place to travel — not a crash-tested restraint.
What if it isn't right for my dog?
