A quieter evening. For both of you.
Cushioned cups take the peak off every bang
The full force of each firework, all evening
Your voice still gets through
Shouting over the noise, and “it’s okay” not landing
Settled on their bed beside you
Pacing, panting, wedged behind the sofa
On in ten seconds, before the first bang
Scrambling for a fix once it’s already started
The same muffs for fireworks, storms and the motorway
A different worry every loud night
Wipe clean, nothing to charge
Plug-ins, sprays and pills that need topping up

Hush is a passive ear muff rated by the manufacturer to reduce noise by up to 29 dB. It softens loud sounds; it does not block them out, and every dog responds differently.

01 — The cup
A shell that seals the ear
Each cup is a smooth, lightweight rigid shell that sits right over the ear opening. It blocks the sharp edge of a sound before it reaches the ear canal — the crack of a rocket, the boom that follows.

02 — The padding
Soft lining absorbs the rest
Inside, a deep cushioned seal rests against the fur and dampens what gets past the shell. It takes the peak off bangs and rumbles while letting your voice and the sounds of the room through. They still hear you.

03 — The strap
Snug without pinching
An adjustable elastic strap runs over the head and under the chin, so both cups stay evenly seated when your dog moves, turns round or lies down. Light enough that most dogs forget they’re on after a few minutes.

04 — The evening
Put them on before the first bang
No batteries, nothing to charge, nothing to learn. Fit Hush as the light goes, settle in together, and give your dog a quieter evening — and give yourself one too.
Questions, answered
How much noise does it actually block?
Hush is rated by the manufacturer to reduce noise by up to 29 dB. In plain terms, it takes the sharp edge off sudden, loud sounds — the cracks, rumbles and booms — rather than silencing them. Your dog still hears you and still hears the room; what they don’t get is the full force of the bang.
Will my dog keep it on?
Most do, once it’s introduced properly. The cups are light and the strap is soft elastic, so after a few minutes many dogs forget it’s there. The trick is to introduce Hush on a quiet day with treats — not for the first time on Bonfire Night. See the steps above.
Which size do I need?
Measure round the widest part of the head, just behind the ears. Small fits 23–33 cm, Medium 33–43 cm, Large 41–51 cm. Between sizes, go larger — a cup that fully covers the ear works better than one that pinches.
What about dogs with long, floppy ears?
Hush works well on spaniels and other long-eared breeds. Tuck the ear gently so it lies flat beneath the cup, then seat the cup over the ear opening. If the ears are very thick, choose the larger size so the cup covers them fully.
Can they wear it for the whole evening?
Yes, for a normal fireworks evening or a storm. Check the strap isn’t too tight (a finger should slide underneath), take it off for a few minutes every hour or so, and remove it as soon as the noise stops.
Does it need batteries or charging?
No. Hush is fully passive — a rigid shell and a soft cushioned lining do the work. Nothing to charge, nothing to switch on, and it works the moment it’s on.
When else is it useful?
Thunderstorms, motorway journeys, DIY and building work next door, busy shows and events, New Year’s Eve. Anywhere sudden, loud sound makes your dog uneasy.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the cups and cushions with a damp cloth and let them air dry. The elastic strap can be hand-washed in cool water. Don’t soak the cups or put them in the machine.
